Maths prove it.

WALT: Generalise properties of multiplication and and division with whole numbers.

My solo level is extended abstract because I can show how to do it and I think that I can teach other people.

Here are some examples of what I was learning.
4+7=7+4  That is called commutative.
n+0=n That is called identity.
3+(7+29)=(3+7)+29 That is called associative.
a*(B+C)=(a*b)+(a*c) That is called distributive.

Also here is some pictures of what I did.The answer is identity because adding 0 to a number doesn't change a number.


 The answer to this is associative because when 3 or more numbers are multiplied, the product is the same regardless of the grouping of the factors.



My next step will be to have a teacher conference and find a new maths goal.

Peer mediation (Excellence badge)

Last week for peer mediation I had to find Molly to help me because she did not turn up. After that we walked around the junior area and also walked around the buildings. Once we walked around once we found that some girls were arguing so we went over to sort it out. When we were doing that we had to explain who we were and what we were there for. In the end they had sorted it out and were friends again.

Technology (Excellence badge)

Last week for technology I only talked to the person next to me and I also only got on with my work when I needed to. On the bus I sat with Kyla and Grace. When I was sitting with them we only talked to each other and no one else. When we arrived at technology I went straight to hard materials. Once we got there we went in and started on our project, I was up to painting my speaker. It was tricky because I had to do precise lines. Once technology had finished we went on the bus and drove back to school. The bus was ok but it was a little noisy, we only got told once to be a little more quiet.

Kapa Haka (Excellence badge)

Today at kapa haka we had to practice our poi and our new school song. When we were practicing the new school song we had to do it about 5 time because we weren't loud enough and we did not have the actions sorted properly. In the end the school song sounded really good and most of the actions were great. When we were practicing our poi 4 senior girls had to demonstrate the last part of the poi as we made it up. In the end it turned out really well and it looks and sounds great. We also had to help the yr 4/5 with the poi because they did not know how to do it and they weren't in time with everyone else.

Koru games

Over the last 3 days I participated in the koru games. My sport was netball.
I really enjoyed playing netball because all my team mates were giving us tips in our games and also encouraged us to give new positions a go.
Thinking back to when we first started training, I have really improved on my passing and driving forward to get the ball because when we first started training my passes weren't very strong and I did not know how to drive to get the ball.
My goal for the next koru games tournament would be to give some more positions a go and to practice shooting more.

(Excellence Badge) Communication team

Today at communication team I had just started editing my video and people were asking for help, of course I said yes. After that we got told that we had to cut it 10mibutes short. So after we got told that I finished editing and then I went out side for about 5-10 minutes and took some photos of some kids doing their thing. Later on after lunch we had assembly so Kyla and I had to take photos of what the kids were doing. Next week I think that I could try and get more photos all up.

Our text that we did was called Moa.
The text features we had to find were:
An opening general statement.
Technical language.
Objective language.
Structure.
Bias
Accuracy of information.

(Excellence Badge) Technology

On the way to technology I think that I was only talking to the person next to me because since we were sitting three to a seat I only talked to Kyla who was sitting in the middle and I also did not talk to Grace because she was on the other side of Kyla and was not next to me. When we arrived at technology we had to go to our groups. My group is hard materials. In hard materials we are making a speaker box. So far I am up to painting my second side of my box. I am doing my box purple with white polka dots. Also on the way back I only talked to Monique who was next to me. Next week I think that I could help someone else when I cant do anything.

(Excellence Badge) Kapa Haka

Today at kapa haka we had to practice our new school song. I found it quite tricky because the yr 4/5s had to sing a verse first then the yr7/8 girls had to sing a verse after them. It was tricky because we had less people then they did. After that we sang it all together in a battle. The battle was Yr7/8s verse the Yr4/5/6s. By the end of it we all won and then we sang it without doing a battle.
After that we practiced our poi and some of us Yr7/8 girls had to help the younger one with it because they did not know what they were doing. Next week I think that I could try harder and try to hep more people out.

(Excellence evidence) kapa Haka

This Friday we had kapa Haka. At kapa Haka we had to learn new moves to a song and we also practiced all of the songs we knew. Some other girls and I have to make up a new move for the end of one of our poi songs it's a little tricky because we have to make sure that it is in time and that Mr Brown and our kapa Haka teacher make sure it is ok and approve it. Next week I think that I should work on being on time and keeping in time with the music.
